Morning Run - Chilly

I just finished a 13.142km running that lasted about 1hh:18mm:17ss !

Definitely feeling wintery now as it was about -2C before I went out today and Strava says it feels like -8C. I decided to go for an extra layer on top as well as gloves, but my magnificent legs (adored by @dickturpin) were still on display.

I went for a longer version of my Sunday loop this time, but it was hard work. Strava shows me having a fairly consistent pace, but it was steady rather than quick. I did have to stop early on to sort out my podcasts and I briefly walked later on.

It was fairly quiet out there and I think I only saw one or two other runners. I was slightly later than usual as I opted to having some breakfast first. Strava says I had my third fastest times on a couple of segments, but they are some I rarely do. I took the back road out of Stotfold towards Astwick. There are a lot of newly built houses out there, including a couple that look more like an industrial unit. I also passed the house that has an old Rolls Royce slowly rotting in their front garden. I wonder if they plan to restore it.

It was a crisp morning with blue skies and some frozen puddles that could be slippery. I tried to avoid those and managed to stay on my feet. The long path across the fields was hard work even though it is very flat. This was my longest run in a few weeks and my legs were tired by then. I took the direct route home once I was back in #Arlesey as I was ready for a shower and a coffee.

I am playing with the band this afternoon. There is an event where people are invited to come and dance, so we will have to see who turns up. We would want to play anyway.

Run free and stay well.

-2°C is so cold. I have never experienced that in my life.
And sometimes I get cold.

I have seen it down to -12C around here in the past. I've been to places that are colder. Just need to dress for the weather.

Well done mate. Cold weather, but when its pretty still and crisp they can be a pretty great time to run.

I don't like it when it's hot and with cold weather you can just wear more layers. I just prefer it not to be wet though. Today was lovely really.

Yeah -2° is getting cold. It seems like fewer and fewer people will become the norm around this time of year. I'm Guessing only the "die hards" like yourself will keep at it through the Winter.

You might be surprised. We will get lots at parkrun all winter, but if it gets really wet that will put some off. Have to keep the fitness up.
