Evening Jog at 35C

Hi all!

Welcome back to my running blog! There is a heatwave in Europe. Today the local temperature was 38C at its peak, therfore I waited until the beginning of the evening to do a run - at 20:00 it was still 35C.

Despite the temperature I was very motivated to go for a run today. Mostly because the protected breeding area for birds was open for public again as of today. This is an unpaved route with high grass where you can really enjoy a little stip of nature.

The high grass and temperature forced me to maintain a slow pace. Nevertheless it was a lot of fun. With this weather I had the whole route for my self. Taking it easy and enjoying some me time!

Regardless of the temperature I will increase my weekly kilometers quite a lot next few weeks up till 70 - 100 km so I can really start improving my conditioning again before I start a new marathon training block.

Now back home, I am replenishing some electrolytes and fluids in order to recover a bit.

The forecast for tomorrow is some thunderstorms, which means that the temperature should become a little more comfortable!

Happy running!
