dannewton just finished a 44.39km run, that lasted for 329 minutes.
This run helped dannewton burn 3705.0 calories.

Description from Strava: Well that was an adventure! My first marathon completed as part of the Great British Seaside Marathon. It was much harder than expected, partly because I went off to quick at the start in my excitement, but mostly because the sheer amount of flippin' sand!

yes I know it's next to the beach!

Still didn't expect that much though... which means my final time was over 5 hours compared to the 4.30 I was hoping for.

No matter, I've completed it, and I got a big shiny medal to prove it. I will write up a longer post of my day out soon, but for now I'm gonna have a well earned rest!

About the Athlete: Living in the UK, I am an intermittent Runner, but always striving for more consistency. When I'm not training I can be found photographing insects or listening to really loud angry music (which is the best type of music obviously!)

Well done. Just completing a marathon is an achievement. I don't feel up to it yet. That's a long time to be running, but your training paid off.

Thank you! I was slighty down after not getting close to the time I was after... but after a few hours I now recognize it for the achievement it is.

It really was! My longest training run was for this was 20 miles at 3 hours 30. I expected increasing to 27 miles would have been an extra 1 hour and 10 minutes, but the reality was a further 2 hours for a total of 5 hours 30. That was hard work!

Thanks Brad. Currently sifting through pictures to write about, but I think I really could do with heading to bed. THe race report thing will appear in the next few days

Next one? er never again! 😅

Nah I'm kidding. my next event is a local 1/2 Marathon in september which will be considerably easier. I need to look at my training before attempting another full marathon, but I will try again
