A very slow one

I just finished a 10.478km running that lasted about 1hh:11mm:44ss !

TL:DR - Not feeling on form today, had to dig deep to complete it. Pace was slow to begin with, and then got slower and slower...

Meh, not a good run today. Didn't feel with it, didn't feel interested, didn't feel MOTIVATED. The lack of sleep last night didn't help, but to be honest I just wasn't interested in todays run at all. I still went out and completed it (at a much reduced pace) but it wasn't enjoyable or relaxing.

I could have quite easily given it a miss today, and I know full well I would have regretted that decision. If I had missed todays session, I could have made excuses to miss the next couple of sessions and before you know I would have broken the habit and stopped running completely.

When improving anything, consistency is key, so a crap run is better than no run at all. Something that @normie.fitness touches on in one of his recent posts. He explains it in better detail than I have so go check it out.

just to be clear, I wasn't injured. That would have been an acceptable reason to not exercise. I wasn't injured, just feckin' lazy. I grit my teeth, shoved some trainers on and went outside

I managed to complete an hours worth of running, and I don't feel any better, but I am glad I did it. Todays route was back on the bypass which is now available after the recent flooding has finally subsided.

Anyway run completed, I'll go grab some lunch now. Hopefully Wednesday's run will be enjoyable but if not I'll still complete it anyway ;-)

*When someone tells you that what you want to do is impossible, change the word in your head to hard. What you want to do is hard. Hard is doable – it just requires dedicated work and effort and you can make it happen.
