Half Marathon pacer: April 18 2026
Already in problems after 3 kilometers and not with my knees but with my calf,π°
Looking behind me and seeing 20-30 people trying to follow the pace at 1h40 made me consider what to do... I couldn't sign up as a pacer for a half marathon and abandon the race after 3-4km. So I decided to try and continue to 8-9km and see if there were still a lot of people following...
I didn't really count the kilometers in advance and we went further away than I thought to, so neither it was an option to stop there. From that point it was survival modus and fighting for every kilometer.
Fortunately I had been building a margin and I could afford to drop the pace by 10-15 seconds in the last three kilometers and finish anyway under 1h40, which was the objective.

It seems !WEIRD !INDEED that your pain "moved" from your knee to your calf, but I !HOPE for your faster recovery either way! π€π€―π€ !PIZZA
It's even more !WEIRD that it's going the way back now and I start to having more knee ache as well !BBH !wine
I think that you would need to focus your attention not just on your knee and your calf, but also other parts of your body that may be causing the pain !INDEED. π€π§ββοΈπ€―π€ !HOPE !WEIRD !PIZZA
Absolutely. That's why I'm trying to go for cycling and swimming, and I'm trying to do some exercises for my Achilles heel and thighs !INDEED !HOPE !wine
!HOPE that such alternative exercises to running make you feel (much) less pain in your body (and actually helps address the cause itself of the pain)! π€π !LOLZ
I'm having less pain !INDEED, but I'm losing shape, thus it isn't a solution on the longer term !STRIDE !wine
Looks like running as a form of exercise is one of the only few ways you have to remain in shape !INDEED. π€π€―π€ !WEIRD !HOPE !WINEX
There are other ways as well, of course, but they won't keep me in shape for running (again afterwards) !WEIRD !HOPE !INDEED
It really looks like that the only way to keep in shape for running is... running only !INDEED. π€πββοΈπ€―π !LOLZ
It actually is... !WEIRD !STRIDE !HOPE
That means no walking (briskly), jogging, among other similar activities that involve mostly the lower body as a good alternative to simply running. π€π€―π !WEIRD !LOLZ
