Saturday morning, it's hot again. After some early morning chores, the intervals exercise beckons. It is becoming a tradition now. Last Saturday I went to Tacen, today the chosen location is a Holmer's running track in Šiška, by the ŽAK track & field stadium.

It's a great track for any kind of run if you don't mind running on a 677 meters long loop on a soft and spongy natural surface, most of it in the shade.

The particular area is called Triangle for an obvious reason.

The track surrounds several facilities, football pitches with artificial turf, outdoors fitness area, table tennis tables, even a bar is there.

It was more or less empty during my run, a couple of people doing some calisthenics and playing ping pong.

I took these photos after most people left.

Nice, isn't it?

The plan was to run 4 times 3 minutes intervals with 4 minutes of jog and 15 minutes warmup and cooldown sections. The execution was like this, the distance of four quick sections:

  • 600 m, 610 m, 620 m, 650 m

A ladder of sorts, good!

Another tradition that I am starting to build, is to have a coffee and beer somewhere near where I ran. There are three bars in the campus but you won't believe it, all three were closed. It looks like it's summer vacation for them too.

No problem, on my way home I stopped at Forza bar. A place I was often at 35 years or so ago. We were playing basketball here all days.

Tomorrow, one an a half hour of easy running, preferably in the forest. Easy pace again.
