Champions League Eliminations - Round 1 results and Round 2 setup

Round 1 of Champions League eliminations is over and we know all players who advanced to Round 2. Now seeded players enter the stage and will test the winners of Round 1.

Losing sides of Round 1 are still in the game - they have been transferred to Round 2 of Consolation Cup qualifiers.

Now that the winners face seeded players in Round 2, they have been sorted in descending order of their aggregate score in Round 1.

Players who got W/O in their favor, have their real scores for the purpose of the seeding, rather than "30:0" used to decide the winner

The best from the above table (Q1) will face the lowest seeded player (S8), the second best (Q2) will meet the 7th seeded etc.

Losers

The losing sides also have been sorted by descending aggregate score.

The best from the above table (CL1) will face the weakest winner from Round 1 of Consolation Cup eliminations (CC8), the second best (CL2) will meet CC7 etc.

The following players will either get directly into group phase of Season 6 Champions League, or will start Eliminations from Round 2. Seeding in Round 2 is based on MAcFiT Ranking after Season 5.

9 Winners + 1 Lucky Loser (decided by highest aggregate score over the 2 matches in Round 2) will advance to the group phase of the Champions League.

This season I and onward, I will use the aggregate score from Round 2 for group placement. This is a change - in Seasons 1-5 the group setup was predetermined by seed number. More on this later this week.

8 remaining players will be transferred to Consolation Cup and will be seeded there.

Consolation Cup

Winners from Round 1 of Consolation Cup qualifiers are matched against losers from Champions League Round 1. The best will face the worst from the latter group. Sorting is by aggreagate score from Round 1. Due to W/Os in Round 1 of CC eliminations, the players who advanced with W/O in their favor will be sorted by their actual step cuonts. The two players who "bye's", will top their group for the sake of seeding (which is fair, because the "bye's" resulted from good performance in the pre-qualifications).
