This run helped steevc burn 928.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
I could hear the rain as I lay in bed. When I looked out it did not look too bad, but when I actually got outside it was raining steadily. I set off anyway. I had an idea of going to Henlow Camp, but instead headed along the road to Clifton. I was dodging the puddles along the way. My AllBirds shoes are fairly waterproof, but it will get in eventually.

There were a few other crazy people out running and we waved to each other as we passed by. When I got to the duck pond I took the back road to the upper school and came back on the main road. I then crossed my path to go around the back to Henlow.

The route goes up and down a bit, but with no major climbs. I was lucky not to get splashed by any cars and I saw one go through a big puddle on the other side of the road. I was wet anyway, but to get soaked like that is not pleasant.

I went past the Scouts campsite and middle school to get on the track past Champney's spa. It was muddy and very slippery down there. I did not have my trail shoes on, so I had to be really careful. After Chamney's I did part of the parkrun course. It was a lot wetter than yesterday with some big puddles.

As I came back through Arlesey station there were a lot of people waiting for the train to London. Maybe there is something going on today.

By the time I got home I had had enough and just ran past my house a bit to round it up to 12km. I would like to run further, but that will do. I was looking forward to a warm shower.

lol, we Runners are a surprisingly friendly bunch... doesn't matter if the person is a total stranger, there's always a nod or smile or wave

I would like to run further, but that will do.

Something is always better than nothing, heavy rain is hard work, well for getting out there!

I can relate to this actually. Going under a shower after a sweaty activity rejuvenates you a big deal.

Big thumbs up to you for always keeling fit. Exercise is good for our bodies

I'm presuming that this is near you house... i mean the start/finish points. If so I'm kind of envious that you have something akin to nature so near where you live.

I avoid driving anywhere to run and I do appreciate that I have nice places to run around home. I have various routes I can use.
