Morning Run: Post Jam

steevc just finished a 5.5km run, that lasted for 35 minutes.
This run helped steevc burn 398.0 calories.

Description from Strava:
I was back at the White Horse for the jam session for the first time in ages. There were eight of us taking turns to play songs. My fellow Hivers @anna-newkey and @steve-o2023 did some lovely duets. I accompanied Steve on a tune we have not played in ages, but managed to remember it. @todayslight was also there playing his original songs.

Having a couple of beers does mess up my body a little, but I still wanted to run. It was nice out there and a little cooler than it has been. Again there was sliced bread thrown across our road, but I do not know who does that.

I did my hill 'sprints' workout today. I was not particularly quick, but it got my heart pumping and I worked up a sweat. At least I get a couple of 'local legend' titles on Strava. There was a lady I think I have seen before who walks up there briskly swinging her arms from side to side. That may be her workout.

I do feel I need to build up my fitness again as it has dropped a little, so I will do more of these workouts.

It was the usual routine when I get home of splashing my face with cold water to cool down a little before breakfast and a shower. I had some more raspberries from the garden on my cereal. I picked a few tomatoes this week too.

Have a great day and run free.

T'was a lovely evening! Beer would mess me up BIG time.. 😄
Notice what's in front of me on the table.. yep.. haha

sliced bread thrown across our road

Sorry, I must have missed this bit, surely not someone feeding the birds?
Which you shouldn't do with bread anyhow may I add..

I have mentioned before that I often see bread just thrown around near us. There was a slice on a car today. It's not even broken up, so I'm not sure what the birds get. I expect the rats enjoy it :)

Last night was fun. I played a few songs I had not done in a while.

This !BEER should not mess you up.

It sounds like you had a fantastic time at the jam session and catching up with fellow Hivers. Music and good company can make for a memorable evening.

I opened this post without paying much attention - I just saw Anke and assumed it was her - this I awesome dude, I love seeing Hivers jamming in real life! Also, I feel ya on the hill sprints not being all that fast, mine are also pretty slow…oh yeah and the beer having an impact 🤣

We have a band with 4 Hivers in it as I have recruited a few people. Not all are active though.

I cannot expect too much from my running as it's a compromise of getting out there, but also enjoying the odd beer and cake. I just try to stay in reasonable shape and may be fitter than most guys my age.

This is the first time I'm coming across this Strava2hive type post (I've been away from Hive for a while). It seems cool. Ai is slowly taking over 😂😂.

Welcome back! I enjoyed your book I bought a while ago.

@strava2hive is a neat way to create posts as it saves me some work.

I know some people are creating posts and comments with 'AI' and we have to decide what has value.

Have fun.

Thanks for the welcome, @steevc.

Ah, you've read it at last! I'm so happy to hear that and I'm happy you enjoyed it! Can you help me make a post about the book here on Hive, please? You can say whatever you like about it whether you think it's a good book, it's strengths or weakness, or anything you like. You also don't have to waste too much time or say too much. It would mean the world if you did that.

I always hate it when I step out of the shower after a workout and I immediately start sweating again. It doesn't seem to matter what temperature of water I use. I often need a second towel just to wipe my sweat after I dry off the first time! Maybe the bread is for birds to eat. That is weird.

I need a little time to cool down after running. It was more of an issue when I used to use a gym at work and needed to get back to my desk. I don't think I need a sauna with all the sweating I do anyway.

Yeah, I hear that! I couldn't even imagine having to go right back to work. I'd be a hot mess even with the A/C going in my office all the time!
